Will incisions become a thing of the past?
At 3D Ultimate, what we do and who we are is non-invasive treatments. We thought we would dive a little bit into the history and evolution of non-invasive treatments to see why we are doing what we are doing today.
Modern surgery was changed in history down to two key milestones – anaesthesia and aseptic technique. Don’t worry – we won’t go too medical, but this pretty much means that surgery as we know it becomes more popular and more invasive because patients were able to feel no pain and more importantly, survive the surgery. Today, we pride ourselves on being able to offer treatments that are non-invasive and in our world, redefining surgery.
Surgery as we know it
When we hear the word surgery, we think of an intervention or invasion of some sort in a sterile operating theatre. Of course, that’s what we’re used to in hospitals, but in clinics, it’s a different situation. The word surgery actually means ‘working or done by hand’. Though this may evoke images of a skilled surgeon or doctor, this can also have different interpretations.
Imagine for a moment that you can look inside a patients body, treat a medical condition without making an incision and the patient returns home the same day. Now, imagine for a moment that you want to get rid of stubborn fatty cells like cellulite or bingo wings and you can do so with a non-invasive treatment tailored to your needs and requirements.
Developments in how to see disease without an incision.
The lack of a good light source to see inside the human body was a key hurdle until the development of modern endoscopy occurred. An invention which redirected light to the observer’s eye from internal cavities using candles and mirrors. Developments and variations of the device continued to be used over the course of the next 100 years and in the early 1900s, laparoscopic or keyhole surgery as we know it came about; requiring only several small holes to insert surgical instruments and a light source inside the body.
The gradual acceptance of minimally invasive surgery was due to the limitations of the technology available. In the mid-1980s, video technology necessary for modern keyhole surgery was developed and this growth has been pushed forward by advancements in imaging and technology; minimising the need for big invasive surgeries. This evolution continued into the 1990s with the introduction of robotic-assisted surgery, which continues to evolve in a digitally-driven world today.
Non-invasive treatments at 3D Ultimate
With modern technologies and advances in innovation, 3D Ultimate can offer revolutions in treating fat removal, skin tightening and other patient care treatments. By leveraging focused ultrasound and technologies, we have the ability to target and treat cells while leaving the patient whole and walking away on the very same day.
Non-invasive treatments at 3D Ultimate places the patient in the centre of care and holds the potential to safely treat millions of patients. Overall, with no surgical incisions and guided by professional experts, the risks of downtime are non-existent and patients can quickly return to their lives.
